We are sharing our summery reads.

While I was writing my book Here Comes the Sun: Travel Poetry Written by Katie Lewington

I was reading

  • Disinheritance poems by John Sibley Williams

https://johnsibleywilliams.wordpress.com

  • Saris and a Single Malt by Sweta Srivastava Vikram

http://swetavikram.com

  • Life, Sex & Death A Poetry Collection by David Ellis

https://toofulltowrite.com

Which I voluntarily agreed to read & review on this very blog.

While these three aren’t exactly summery reads (the first two are about grief)

they certainly taught me about shaping my poems & awareness of the words I use.

I was also reading The Age of Reason, which you can hardly call an easy read, but I have always had a fondness for the classics & the language & traditions & strange ways of living. Strange to us now at least.

My copy was picked up in a charity shop & is slightly soggy because I read often in the bath & my partner would creep up on me & turn on the shower head.

As any reader would know ( & imagine) when you are deeply into a book a cold & wet interruption is most unwelcome & it led to my chasing him back with the shower head in hand.

Comment,  & share your summer reads!
