Two years of Book Blogging!

While I believe in enjoying what you are doing, living in the moment, and letting the numbers take care of themselves I am very happy to say I have been blogging about books for two years! And have almost four hundred followers too, and counting! Please let me know in the comments what you like about the poetry hub and what you would like to see more of.

Happy Weekend!

Happy weekend, friends! I hope you have a fun one, whether your weekend is going to be busy, or a quiet one.

My two chapbooks the Blank Page, and Nectar can be downloaded for FREE from Payhip.com.

Fully immerse yourself in the writers life – greeting the blank page, the doubts, censorship, challenges, bad feedback, and further down the line, what will my legacy be?

The free-verse, and experimental, poetry on living, loving, and writing asks other questions, such as will my writing ever pay the bills? What if the muse buggers off? And what would Beat writer Jack Kerouac have made of #poetsofinstagram?

Katie Lewington is offering you a personal experience, with vulnerability and heart on the page.

The Blank Page hopes to inspire, and entertain.

Poetry is my nectar. I have been writing it for six years, and enjoy reading it just as much (although I didn’t for my English GCSE!) Reading poetry I enjoy writers who play with form, and I like social commentary in poetry, as much as I do the haiku, the found poem, and the silly rhyme.

Bruce Kilarski is one of the humorist poets to have influenced me, and I love the rhymes in one of my favorite books, Alice in Wonderland.

Nectar marrs both social commentary, and humour, in the five poems in this micro-chapbook that were first published in Jotters United Zine and Selcouth Station.

The Blank Page

My second new book The Blank Page.

My tablet broke Friday and my only internet options are using the public library, or Wi-Fi spots on my Kindle in restaurants. I have anxiety, so I can very easily become socially isolated if I don’t go out often, and the online poetry community keeps me sane! I also love book blogging, which I won’t be able to do without my tablet! It might take me a while to save for some new technology, so any donations will really help me.

The poem EURO in my book of travel poetry came about as

I remember watching Ronaldo on the telly during the Euro’s and Wales did well that year too, that’s when my love for the beautiful game started. I wouldn’t usually confess to loving something I’ve said I hated, and that’s what this poem is about.
